My name is Leah Hilton Tansey, and I am a Freelance designer. I specialize in both theatrical and fashion and design and make sets, costumes, props, puppets, jewelry,clothes and home craft gifts.
I have a wide range of skills and an ever growing knowledge of design that I can adapt to work in many different areas. I have endeavored throughout, to get involved in as many different areas of performance as possible, resulting in work on and designing, not only straight theatre pieces, but musicals, touring shows, site specific performances and puppet shows.
Whilst studying Theatre and Performance Design at Liverpool Institute For Performing Arts, I discovered my flare and enjoyment for designing and making my own clothes and jewellery. I soon discovered that using old clothes and buttons and other weird and wonderful items found in everyday life could create imaginative, individual pieces of fashion. This has since led me to start my own company, and the items I’ve made for sale can be found under the Tansey-Designs heading, or by following the link below.
This desire to stand out and be individual can be seen not only in my clothes, but throughout all my designs, be it set, costume or puppet.
